The champion of the 2016 WBC (World Barista Championship) has been announced, with Taiwanese contestant Wu Zelong claiming the title, making him the first barista from Taiwan’s coffee scene to ever receive this prestigious honor！

This year marks the 17th edition of the World Barista Championship finals, often referred to as the “Olympics of the coffee world.” The event was held in Dublin, Ireland, where 60 top baristas from around the globe gathered to compete over four days for the highest honor in the coffee profession.

Taiwanese contestant Wu Zelong was in impressive form this year, ranking 5th overall in the group preliminary round with a score of 483, successfully advancing to the semifinals where 12 contestants competed for 6 spots. He ultimately stood out in the finals, claiming the World Championship title for the first time and achieving his best result to date this year.
