The most anticipated lineup of performers for the New Year’s Eve gala and the Taipei 101 countdown light and fireworks show have been revealed. Taiwan’s only New Year’s Eve concert held exclusively in Taipei will feature “Nation’s Warmhearted Guy” Dog G, “New Year’s Eve Ratings King” Bii, and the hip-hop group MJ116 taking the stage one after another as the closing acts on December 31st. The highly anticipated return of Golden Melody Award-winning songstress Tanya Chua, who hasn’t performed in Taiwan for New Year’s in years, and the first-ever appearance of Korean superstar Rain on the Taipei New Year’s stage are set to wow the crowds.

Taipei’s “strongest in the nation” New Year’s Eve gala will feature performances by Show Lo, Gui Gui, Ding Dang, Mimi Chu, Wei Bird, A-Lin, as well as three musical groups — MJ116, Dog G, and Bii — as closing acts. Even more excitingly, Golden Melody Award-winning songstress Tanya Chua is also on the performance list, promising to deliver Taiwan’s trendiest, hottest, and most star-studded New Year’s Eve celebration ever. The carefully curated program includes highlights such as “Nation’s Warmhearted Guy” Dog G leading a team of musicians and a 14-piece orchestra on stage, sure to delight the audience. A major surprise announced at the press conference is the appearance of international superstar and renowned Korean artist Rain, who will headline alongside the handsome boy band IN2IT to ring in the New Year with everyone in Taipei. This marks the first time in Taipei New Year’s history that a Korean artist has been invited to perform, promising an unforgettable show.

Besides the star-studded lineup, the annual Taipei 101 fireworks display remains the highlight of the Taipei New Year’s Eve celebration and draws worldwide attention. This year’s Taipei 101 countdown light and fireworks show is themed “2018 Happy Together.” With a longer duration, upgraded fireworks, and multimedia elements including light shows, the total performance time will reach 360 seconds, offering audiences a unique visual spectacle.

To ensure everyone is fully energized for New Year’s Eve, food trucks offering burgers, grilled toast, coffee, and drinks will be stationed at the Taipei City Hall East Gate Plaza starting at 2 PM on December 30th and 31st, allowing attendees to enjoy great music, stunning fireworks, and delicious bites.
