New Attraction: Suspension Bridge Hot Springs – A One-Day Tour of Taoyuan’s Top Five Attractions

Taoyuan’s new attractions “Xinxikou Suspension Bridge” and “Lofu Atayal Hot Spring Park” were both launched in January. The suspension bridge spans 303 meters, making it the longest cable-stayed bridge in Taiwan. The Lofu Hot Spring Food Carnival features foot soaking pools and integrates Atayal indigenous cultural elements to create a unique hot spring street. The following combines attractions in the Lofu Fuxing District and the Little Wulai Waterfall Scenic Area, presenting five recommended spots as fresh travel options for visitors.

1. Xinxikou Suspension Bridge
The Xinxikou Suspension Bridge took over three years of planning, reconstruction, and renovation. Spanning 303 meters, it has become the longest cable-stayed bridge in Taiwan. The original Xikou Suspension Bridge was demolished in 2015 due to aging infrastructure and replaced by the new bridge, connecting Jiaobanshan and Xikou Plateau while crossing the Dahan River.

Ticket Prices: NT$100 for adults, NT$70 for concessionary tickets
Free Admission: Residents registered in Fuxing District, children under 6 years old, seniors aged 65 and above, people with disabilities holding certification and one accompanying person, as well as officials conducting official business.

2. Lofu Atayal Story Park

The Lofu area in Fuxing successfully drilled its first hot spring well and has set up three foot soaking pools at the Atayal Story Park, offering visitors a cozy new option for winter outings to enjoy warm hot spring foot baths. Additionally, on January 13th, the Lofu Hot Spring Food Carnival will be held at the story park. The event will feature performances by the Original Forest Art Dance Troupe, indie singers from the tribe, and more. Indigenous food specialty stalls will surround the venue, along with DIY experiences such as jewelry crafting featuring indigenous cultural elements.

3. Jiaobanshan Guesthouse

Covering around 3 hectares, Taoyuan’s Jiaobanshan Guesthouse Park is planted with over 200 plum trees, making it one of the largest plum gardens in northern Taiwan. During the plum blossom season, the Taoyuan City Tourism Bureau also hosts a series of plum blossom events in the Jiaobanshan Guesthouse Park, allowing visitors to not only admire the beautiful floral scenery but also enjoy a delightful and fun experience.

4. Little Wulai Skywalk

Built with an investment of NT$8 million, the Little Wulai Skywalk was once voted by visitors as the most romantic spot in Taiwan. With a minimalist design featuring geometric lines, its structure is made of reinforced glass and extends 11 meters out from the cliff. Standing on the glass platform 70 meters above the waterfall base, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Little Wulai Valley and the majestic waterfall, all while experiencing a thrilling 360-degree panoramic perspective.
