VR virtual reality is all the rage – experience it at The Lalu Jiaoxi and The Grand EDA

Virtual reality (VR) has been a huge trend recently and is heavily promoted by many gaming companies. Now, the hospitality industry is also riding this wave. Both The Lalu Jiaoxi in Yilan and The Grand EDA in Kaohsiung have launched VR entertainment facilities during the summer break, aiming to attract families with children to come and have fun together.

This summer, The Lalu Jiaoxi has partnered with a vendor to offer three different types of VR games on the first floor: a 3-axis motion seat, an F1 racing simulator, and a virtual shooting motion game. Guests staying under the “Summer Joy. Unleash Your Playful Spirit” package can enjoy one free VR session. Additional single sessions cost NT$150 each, or all three can be played for NT$400. The 3-axis motion seat lets you feel the thrills of a roller coaster, the surprise of a dinosaur rushing past, and the wonder of exploring the underwater world. The F1 racing and virtual shooting games provide the excitement of high-speed racing and action-packed shooting.

Meanwhile, The Grand EDA Royal Hotel features a 360-degree VR乐园 (Virtual Reality zone), which includes Asia’s only “4D motion chair” that can rotate 360 degrees. The immersive visuals make you feel as if you’re truly experiencing the moment—whether surfing at the beach, attending a live concert, or racing motorcycles. Reservations and sign-ups for the 360-degree VR乐园 are available on-site.

Shen Fangzheng, General Manager of The Lalu Jiaoxi Hotel, said that besides gaming, VR will definitely be integrated into hotel services in the future — such as using VR in the lobby or guest rooms to guide guests through hotel facilities, or providing recreational VR experiences in rooms. However, Shen also pointed out that the VR hardware is not the most important factor; how it’s applied and the content provided are what truly matter.
