Awarded by the online booking platform to partners offering outstanding guest experiences, the “2017 Guest Review Awards” selected 549,937 winning accommodations based on over 140 million global guest reviews.

Among them, 3,590 accommodations in Taiwan were awarded, an increase of 185% compared to 2016, ranking 36th out of 218 regions worldwide, with an average guest rating of 8.7.

In the “2017 Guest Review Awards,” Italy topped the list with 81,603 winning accommodations globally, followed by France in second place. The United States, Spain, and Germany ranked third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

It is worth noting that in 2017, 80% of the winning accommodations were not traditional hotels. Among them, “apartment stays” surpassed conventional hotels for the first time to become the most awarded accommodation type, accounting for about 30% of the winners.
