This year, the Nantou International Sand Sculpture Art and Culture Park is themed around the Year of the Dog, starting on January 28. It’s the only sand sculpture event in the country not located by the sea. This edition uses Nantou Golden River sand, which is rare in Taiwan for being salt-free and rich in earthy aroma, to create the world’s only sand sculpture art village that doesn’t rely on sunlight. Using the most eco-friendly and nature-returning sand sculpture art, it offers a unique visual experience.

First-place sand sculpture: “Prosperity Comes with the Dog” – wealth and luck arrive
Nantou’s sand sculpture art has reached its tenth year. To actively develop the cultural characteristics within Nantou County and create an internationally leveled sand sculpture art and leisure tourism space, this year’s sand sculptures will incorporate lighting to showcase the artworks, presenting different features and bringing surprises to visitors.
Second-place sand sculpture: “Prosperity and Wealth”
Third-place sand sculpture: “Blessings from the Snow”
The Dream Zone, sand sculpture competition, and creative DIY area all feature works created to international standards, while also inviting over twenty sand sculpture masters from Japan, Korea, Canada, China, and Taiwan to participate in the creation.
