Nighttime lighting to kick off in July ! Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival by admiring the moon at the “High Heel Chapel”

Every year when the Mid-Autumn Festival comes around, where to admire the moon becomes a popular topic of discussion. But besides well-known moon-gazing spots like Taipei’s Maokong, Sun Moon Lake in Nantou, and Kaohsiung’s Gushan West Bay, there’s now a new destination — the High Heel Chapel in Chiayi,The Yuanchang Management Office has announced that the chapel will be open to the public for moon viewing, coupled with the nighttime lighting that began in July, will offer visitors a brand-new moon-gazing experience for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The High Heel Chapel recently sparked a pilgrimage craze, becoming one of the hottest attractions. The Yuanchang Management Office will also begin lighting up the chapel from July, showcasing its different charm in the evening. In the future, a water dance area will also be planned, complementing the lights to enhance the beauty of rippling water across the entire complex. However, as the site previously only opened until 5 PM, many wondered if moon viewing would be possible during the Mid-Autumn Festival. In response, the management office gave a positive answer and confirmed that it will be open for moon viewing.Although barbecuing is strictly prohibited due to environmental safety concerns, it’s believed that the site will once again see a rush of visitors competing for the best moon-gazing spots during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
