A strong continental cold air mass is wreaking havoc. According to forecasts from the Central Weather Bureau, February 3rd to 5th will be the period when the cold air mass has the strongest impact, with the entire island affected by the cold wave. Due to low temperatures and sufficient moisture, the snowfall altitude may also be lowered. It is estimated that the northern and northeastern high-altitude mountains around 1,000 meters above sea level in Yangmingshan will have a chance to see snowfall.

To ensure traffic safety and smoothness during snowfall in Yangmingshan, and to manage the large number of visitors heading up the mountain to see the snow, Yangmingshan has also announced that traffic control measures will be implemented at that time. Visitors going up the mountain to see the snow must present a “Yangde Boulevard Pass” to enter the Yangmingshan area via Yangde Boulevard. Furthermore, all vehicles traveling to the Yangmingshan area at the control point must be equipped with snow chains to proceed.

The snow control areas include Yangjin Highway, Datun Mountain area, Qixing Mountain area, Qingtian Gang, Lengshuikeng, Zhongshan Building in Yangmingshan, Qianshan Park, and Chinese Culture University, among others. In addition, visitors without a “Yangde Boulevard Pass” who wish to go up the mountain to see the snow must take alternative routes and install snow chains.

The Taipei City Department of Public Transportation will appropriately increase bus services in the Yangmingshan area. Visitors planning to go up the mountain can also take public transportation, which is not only convenient but also safer.
