To celebrate the Year of the Dog and the Lantern Festival, the High Ground Engineering Office of New Taipei City Government planted approximately 60,000 seasonal flowers around the Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park and on the grassy slopes near the A2 Sanchong Station of the Airport MRT. They designed a series of dog-themed floral carpets with lively and adorable designs. These were further paired with the ongoing “2018 New Taipei City Prosperity & Blessings Lantern Festival,” allowing visitors to enjoy the flowers by day and the lanterns by night. This has transformed the Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park into a magnificent, large-scale amusement park.

With about 60,000 blooming flowers in full display, the nighttime lantern displays make the scene even more dazzling, making it a perfect destination for spring outings.
This time, the Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park specially arranged seasonal flowers to form the pattern “20I8.” The “I” was replaced with a dog bone design, interwoven with seven types of flowers including salvia, lavender, picotee dianthus, florist’s daisy, marguerite, gaillardia, and oxeye daisy, creating a highly distinctive feature.
The seasonal flowers at the Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park were arranged to spell out “2018” for the New Year. The “1” was creatively designed to resemble a dog bone, adding liveliness and charm to the display.
On the grassy slope near the A2 Sanchong Station of the Airport MRT, floral patterns of dogs were created using four types of flowers—marguerite, salvia, begonia, and florist’s daisy—creating a festive and joyful ambiance. The surrounding area also featured dog-themed elements, including dog footprints painted with picotee dianthus and adorable dog bone shapes decorated with petunias. These designs are even more vivid and clear when viewed from afar, winning the hearts of both children and adults.
The design of these floral carpets used a variety of flowers—including marguerite, salvia, begonia, and florist’s daisy—to create cute dog patterns that are highly eye-catching.
The surrounding area also features many dog-themed floral designs, such as paw prints and stylized dog bones, which are especially clear and charming when viewed from a distance.
