A great one-day family outing to enjoy flowers – Capture vast grassland views at the Yilan Green Expo

The 2018 Yilan Green Expo enters its 19th year this time, integrating the accumulated essence and energy of green living from the past, continuing the experience from 2017, and being held in grand style at the Dongshan River Eco Park. The organizers, in an effort to encourage low-carbon travel, recommend that visitors take public transportation and enjoy free admission with their ticket stubs, helping many families save on entrance fees. There is also a combined ticket option for visiting both the Expo and the Traditional Arts Park.

The Yilan Green Expo runs from March 31 to May 13, initially setting up three major themed areas near Dongshan Railway Station and within the Eco Park: “Dreaming Village,” “Hoe Classroom,” and “Eco Green Park.” Through crop experts and exhibition zones, it conveys the educational messages of friendly farming and green tourism.

This year’s Green Expo connects with the world through the theme of “Practicing Green Action” and Earth Day’s message of “Ending Plastic Pollution.” As a result, the park will not sell bottled water or disposable utensils this year. Low-cost tickets are available, with general admission priced at just NT$100, and visitors are encouraged to take public transportation and enjoy free admission with their ticket stubs.

In addition, the county government has partnered with the National Center for Traditional Arts to launch a “Dual Park Ticket.” Purchased before the end of March, it allows entry to both the Green Expo and the National Center for Traditional Arts for just NT$150, with an added bonus of a NT$100 EasyCard electronic ticket.
