Last updated 2026-09-25 — A new trend of drinking Yakult upside down has taken Korea’s streets by storm, evolving into a three-part craze. The first part is a special edition of Yakult that you can’t find in stores—the packaging is literally “flipped” upside down, turning the usually wider base into the opening, which brings back nostalgic memories of drinking Yakult upside down as a kid. This limited-edition Yakult is only available from street vendors known as “Yakult moms,” and isn’t sold in regular shops.

A new trend of drinking Yakult upside down has taken Korea’s streets by storm, evolving into a three-part craze.

In early June, Korea’s 7-Eleven convenience stores collaborated with Yakult to launcha limited-edition slushie flavor, available exclusively at 7-Eleven Korea, marking the second part of the trend. This limited-edition slushie-like product, which feels a bit like jelly but can be frozen into a slush, is selling like hotcakes.

The third part of the trend is Yakult-shaped gummies, also sold exclusively at convenience stores. Unlike the first two parts, which can be turned into slushies, these gummies are designed to look and feel just like little Yakult bottles. If you’re traveling to Korea anytime soon, make sure to try these out for a fresh experience.
