After the much-anticipated "Taipei Michelin Guide" was released, a total of 20 restaurants in Taipei earned star ratings, attracting foodies on epicurean journeys. But for those craving Michelin-quality cuisine, Taiwan offers many more starred dining options beyond Taipei, including UKAI TEI, Tim Ho Wan, and Lau Fai Hong Kong Soy Sauce Chicken Rice Noodle.

1. Celebrity Mansion
Celebrity Mansion is a high-end Cantonese restaurant from Hong Kong. It has retained its Michelin star since 2011. Known as the “Hidden Culinary God,” Chef Cheng Kam Fu creates unique dishes with profound Cantonese culinary skills, seasonal ingredients, and delicate, layered seasonings. Celebrity Mansion is located on the 12th floor of Howard Plaza Hotel Kaohsiung.

2. UKAI TEI Teppanyaki

In 2017, a visit by then-U.S. President Donald Trump to Japan made headlines, especially when he and his wife dined with their hosts at a banquet in Ginza. This one-Michelin-star teppanyaki spot is the world’s only teppanyaki restaurant with Michelin recognition—and Taiwan is home to its only overseas branch, located at Silks Club in Kaohsiung E-Da Royal Hotel.

The must-try “Four Heavenly Kings” include Baked BBQ Pork Bun, Pan-Fried Pork Liver Sausage, Smooth Malay Sponge Cake, and Pan-Fried Radish Cake.
