The 2018 Hualong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival marks its 11th edition, with this year’s theme being “Golden Sand Odyssey – An Adventure of Love and Courage.” The sand sculptures unfold like pages of a nautical map, starting from Guishan Island, traveling through Taiwan’s six counties and ten islands, then venturing to global islands, and finally entering the underwater city at the Northeast Coast, providing a rich experience in artistic eco-tourism.

Additionally, the most special highlight this year is the debut of the “underground sand sculpture,” which not only features sculptures inverted downward in a surprising and eye-catching way but also includes interactive sand art loved by both children and adults. Visitors can walk through the sculptures and even touch the sculptures themselves, enjoying an immersive and deeply engaging experience. There will also be a collection of unique islands created by skilled artists from around the world, making this year’s festival highly anticipated.
