One more option on Taiwan–France routes: Air France resumes flights to Taiwan

The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and Air France jointly welcomed the first direct flight from Paris to Taipei after the resumption of services, and arranged for Taiwan’s tourism ambassador “Oh Bear Group Leader” and a local folk performance troupe, the Electric Temple God, to greet passengers on-site.

France is the third-largest source market for visitors to Taiwan in Europe, following Germany and the UK, and has seen steady growth in the number of French travelers visiting Taiwan in recent years, with an average annual growth rate of 10.5% between 2015 and 2017.

Currently, there are seven weekly flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Taiwan, and with Air France adding three weekly flights, the total number of direct flights between Taiwan and France will increase to ten per week, offering travelers more convenient options.

For this relaunch of direct flights between Taiwan and France, Air France is using the Boeing 777-200 aircraft, equipped with its new long-haul cabin. The aircraft offers a total of 280 seats, including 40 business class, 24 Premium Economy, and 216 economy class seats. Flights depart on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and return on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

There are two pieces of good news for the French market this year: first, Air France has resumed the Paris–Taipei direct flight service after a 20-year hiatus; second, the Michelin Guide, originating from France, has launched a Taipei edition. With more convenient air travel and a familiar culinary guide, it will help enhance Taiwan’s visibility in France.
