41-year-old veteran restaurant Yongfulou rumored to close due to high rent; regulars express regret

Thanks to its delicious food and prime location in bustling East District, Yongfulou has been a popular choice for company banquets, wedding celebrations, birthday parties, year-end parties, corporate gatherings, and more.

Unfortunately, rents on Zhongxiao East Road in the East District have continued to rise in recent years. The persistently high rent, without a corresponding increase in customer traffic, made it difficult for the veteran eatery to maintain a balance and saw revenue decline. Rent pressure was indeed a key factor behind Yongfulou’s decision to temporarily suspend business.

As for whether the restaurant will reopen elsewhere after closing, the Yongfulou public relations team did not give a definitive answer. It seems there may still be a chance to enjoy Yongfulou’s delicious dishes at a new location in the future.
