The Mushroom Forest Trail is dreamy — a new highlight for photo ops at the Lake Light Art Festival

Located in Shierliao Lake Light Village, Emei Township, Hsinchu, this is a local hidden paradise where you can enjoy a feast of nature blended with culture. The May Shierliao Land Art Festival invited artists from Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and Taiwan to co-create large-scale bamboo-woven land art installations, which become even more enchanting when illuminated at night.

Hsinchu County is famous for its bamboo production, so bamboo and rattan were chosen as the main materials for the creations. International bamboo-weaving artists were invited to reside here for two months, using their craftsmanship to craft artistic pieces. Additionally, water hyacinths abundant in Emei Lake were used to make light-based art installations, connecting art with the local environment.

These large bamboo-woven artworks can be admired against the lake scenery during the day, and are equally captivating when lit up at night, making them perfect for photo opportunities. In addition, to complement the Land Art Festival, events such as the Lake Light Market, the Sakizaya tribe’s communal lantern-lighting prayer ceremony, the Firefly Season, and various art performances will also be held.
