With the recent trend of renovating and revitalizing old buildings, Yongcui Pavilion in Huwei, Yunlin, has also transformed the entire Japanese-style structure into an exhibition space. The May exhibition theme “Girly Pink Mazu” features an interior dominated by soft pink tones, creating a highly dreamy atmosphere.

The May special exhibition draws inspiration from the bamboo sticks used in Mazu’s parades, with a dominant cherry blossom color palette. It uses a large number of paper strips strung together, covering the floor and hanging from the ceiling to create a highly dreamlike space. The installations are not only ceremonial but also rich in artistic flair.

Built during the Japanese colonial period, Yongcui Pavilion is a designated historic site in Yunlin County. It was originally a venue dedicated to hosting distinguished guests and VIPs. After being leased and operated by the Taiwan Art Development Association in 2017, it frequently invites artists to reside on-site and regularly hosts various exhibitions.
