A Green Wonderland Under a Waterfall Cloud – Discover Twin Rainbows and Starry Skies at Hsinchu’s New Camping Site

Beneath the celestial starry sky canopy, there are countless wild stories waiting to be told. Capture them with your camera shutter – the moments of soaring through the Milky Way in the universe, leaping through the sea of clouds in the mountains. So many memories from that year, visible to you and me, embraceable by you and me.

The ever-changing clouds in this wonderland offer breathtaking views every minute. It’s truly amazing how beautiful camping in the back mountains of Jianshi can be the first time around.

A waterfall cloud cascades straight down from right above the campsite, with the rare sight of a double rainbow.

Lights are turned off after eight o’clock, and the view before your eyes is unbelievably beautiful – a sky full, absolutely full, of starlight. In summer, you can even see the grandeur of the Milky Way directly.

Tonight, the Milky Way appears faintly between the clouds starting at eight o’clock, and the most spectacular moonrise makes its punctual debut at 10:43 PM. Coming to ]h Around Campsite to witness a moonrise is truly worthwhile.

That’s the charm of a night adventure – moonlight, starlight, and the iridescent glow of the sea of clouds, all in one go.

The three brothers at ]h Around Campsite, it’s great to have you here, and it’s even better with our campsite boss around.

Let’s take a look at how to get to Encounter]h Around Campsite: Take the Zhudong Interchange off National Freeway 3, head towards Zhudong on County Highway 120 on the right.

The road signs along the way are very clear – head towards Provincial Highway 3 to Jianshi, County Highway 120 (shared route).

Just head towards Neiwan Recreation Area.

This is the spot – turn right towards Neiwan in Jianshi.

Pass by Neiwan Old Street, and after about 2 kilometers, when you see a FamilyMart, prepare to turn right towards the bridge.

Head towards Yu’lao via County Highway 60 in Zhubei.

Before reaching the archway, please turn left and cross the bridge.

Don’t worry about taking a wrong turn – just stay on County Highway 60 until you reach Yu’lao Viewpoint, then go down for about another three kilometers.

At the 22-kilometer mark on County Highway 60, prepare to turn left.

At the 22.1-kilometer mark on County Highway 60, turn left (onto County Highway 60-1).

At the 1.6-kilometer mark on County Highway 60-1, turn left to enter the campsite (this is the only place with a sign).

Campsite entrance – please go right and downhill.

The slope is of a moderate level, and sedans can handle it with ease.

This slope is just for your reference, fellow campers.

Right after entering the campsite, you’ll find the restroom area, where you can also call ahead to notify the campsite management to reserve your spot.

This time, let’s start the introduction from the topmost A Zone.

Currently, almost every zone is limited to five tents.

The campsite has recently been working on improving areas prone to water accumulation.

Next to each sink, there is a log-style stool.

Zone A has two individual toilets. They are sit-down type and equipped with toilet paper.

At the back, there are three male-only toilets (no unpleasant smell can be detected nearby).

At the front of Zone A, with distant mountain views — today, we happened to have the whole area to ourselves with just one tent.

Mr. Zhang from Sanchong, Taipei, went solo on just his second camping trip (he borrowed the tent from a friend XD). His simple camping gear reminded me of how I used to camp back in the day.

Under the starry sky, a very happy family (thanks also for the drink and food, haha!).

Let’s take a look at Zone B, which currently has plans to add more toilets.

View towards Zone A (slopes and steps are constructed using natural methods, ensuring good drainage).

The flatness of the grass here makes it one of the better sections.

Zone B should also be re-turfed soon (to improve grass drainage).

Each zone has bamboo safety fencing installed at the front. (It took two months to complete the fencing around the three brothers' area.)

There are really quite a lot of sinks in each zone — definitely enough for everyone to use.

The view in Zone B is really nice — it’s a pity we didn’t camp here.

But taking photos of other people’s tents is pretty fun too, lol.

Now let’s take a look at the lower section of the campsite — Zone C.

Zone C also has five tents pitched.

Basically, every section you come across at this campsite offers completely unobstructed, beautiful views.

Among the campsites around Yulao, this spot has the highest elevation and the most stunning scenery.

This is the zone to choose if you love taking photos.

Paired with the distant landscape, everything looks great no matter how you shoot it.

At midnight, after the other campers have turned off their lights, of course, we also sneak in a few shots.

The beauty before your eyes won’t wait.

This night drive adventure under the moonlit sky is none other than LOVE Camping.

The last photo in Zone B is this double rainbow we encountered at the campsite—seeing a rainbow encircling the camp, we really did come across countless stunning sights, didn’t we?!

The final Zone D, which was only just adjusted for drainage slope two weeks ago.

So far, it’s held up well after rain tests, but we’ll need heavier rainfall for a more accurate assessment.

It’s really tough work for the ]h绕 trio of brothers, and thanks to them for providing so much convenience for fellow campers.

Camping here is truly a happy experience, filled with the heartfelt care of the campsite owners.

To be honest, it’s really quite good—very well thought-out by the ]h绕 trio of brothers.

There’s also the veteran campsite owner

Turns out the weeding isn’t for planting flowers, but for a whole row of Chinese chives—campers are in for a treat (organically grown)!

Having camped a lot in central Taiwan, Cameraman He thinks Hsinchu is an amazing place for camping—I think we should quickly plan another trip to Yu Lao and come camp here again.

Gazing at the vast sky while camping, the summer midnight is surprisingly awe-inspiring.

2: Lawn maintenance in progress – please take care (the campsite has no light pollution except for low-level small pathway lights; please turn off lights outside the restroom at night)
3: All hillside crops are organically grown – please do not pick them without permission
4: For nighttime rides, please contact the campsite owner in advance and confirm before departure
5: High-altitude campsite – even in summer, please dress warmly as nighttime temperatures hover around 20°C
