“Fulinfu Hong Kong Hot Pot,” which had consistently enjoyed good business, was famous for its classic Hong Kong-style cilantro flavor and authentic Shaoxing chicken hot pot broth, earning high praise online and even being dubbed by netizens as a “must-try or regret it” Hong Kong-style hotspot. However, due to rising rents in recent years, fierce competition within the industry, and the expiration of its lease, the restaurant was unable to withstand the challenging environment and had to close its doors, drawing widespread lament and regret from netizens.

After the closure announcement, many fans and diners rushed to make reservations, hoping to enjoy the 15-year unchanged signature broth and authentic Hong Kong flavors one last time before it shut down. But the overwhelming response led to reports of busy phone lines, and even the restaurant’s official fan page announced that due to an excessive volume of reservation calls and staff shortages, phone reservations would be temporarily suspended.

Having operated for 15 years, Fulinfu Hong Kong Hot Pot gained popularity among foodies with its special Shaoxing chicken, peppered pork tripe, and other broths, along with its all-you-can-eat format. Due to factors such as the lease expiring, its Keelung Road Tonghua branch closed on July 8, and its Civic Boulevard flagship store ceased operations on August 5.
