The Moomin-themed café Moomin Café, which has been popular in Japan for 13 years, opened its only branch in Taiwan in Taipei’s East District last July. Now marking its one-year anniversary, it has launched 24 new dishes and limited-edition lucky bags.

The first wave brings a new lineup of delicious items starting today, featuring 24 new dishes. The second wave begins on July 28, when 100 limited-edition lucky bags will be available, with the total value of the bag contents being three times the selling price.
Moomin offers over a thousand kinds of merchandise, all imported from Japan.
In addition, a consumption rebate event is being held simultaneously. From July 21 to August 31, diners who spend over NT$1,000 at the restaurant will receive one complimentary dessert/drink voucher.

Meanwhile, the most anticipated event by fans—August 9, Global Moomin Day—will see Taiwan and Japan launch a limited-edition Japanese-made Moomin Day commemorative mug ($380) for the first time in sync this year, with only 30 available nationwide. To celebrate the one-year anniversary, from August 1, customers who spend over NT$1,500 at the merchandise section can exchange for a limited-edition 2018 Moomin Day tote bag.

With the brand spirit inspired by Moominmamma’s famous quote “All fun is good for the stomach!” Moomin Café is celebrating its one-year anniversary in Taiwan by introducing 24 new dishes. Whether it’s salads, snacks, classic meals, main courses, pasta, risotto, or desserts, there’s something new to try—with characters from the Moomin family appearing throughout the dishes, offering delightful surprises along with tasty bites.
