Taiwan’s first “McDonald’s 2.0 flagship restaurant” is a renovation of the former Taipei Kunming branch. McDonald’s Taiwan has officially entered the EOTF (Experience of the Future) new era, bringing customers a better dining experience through comprehensive innovations in store design, services, products, and digital services. The interior design was handled by up-and-coming Hong Kong designer Nelson Chow, introducing a new Alphabet minimalist style. It moves away from the traditional red and yellow color scheme, instead using wood tones paired with black and white, changing the public’s established impression of McDonald’s main visual identity.

China launched its first 2.0 concept restaurant in Shenzhen as early as the end of 2016, and plans to upgrade over 1,000 stores. Now, McDonald’s Taiwan also plans to gradually upgrade all 180 McDonald’s locations across the country to “McDonald’s 2.0” within three years. In addition to introducing digital self-service ordering kiosks and table service, it will also add front-of-house hospitality ambassadors and promote mobile payment services across the board.

In addition, McDonald’s also announced that starting today, all 396 outlets across Taiwan will offer the “Signature Premium Series burgers,” which were previously available only for a limited time last year, and salads will be added to the main meal menu for the first time. Meanwhile, three products—the 4-ounce beef burger, double 4-ounce beef burger, and the 1995 American-style bacon beef burger—will be discontinued.
