In Beitou District, the “Guizikeng Mountain Trail” features the Guizikeng Stream and Shuimo Keng Stream along the way. The trail connects to the “Guizikeng Camping Site,” and is surrounded by mountain springs, verdant valleys, and lush old trees, making it an excellent place to escape the heat in the Beitou area. Visitors can also explore the Eighteen-Turn Irrigation Channel to connect with nature, enjoy the coolness, and learn about the cultural history and background of the irrigation system.
Shuiche Liao Trail
In Beitou District, there’s another great water-themed trail – the “Shuiche Liao Trail” in Zhuzihu. Nestled within tree-shaded areas and following the course of Donghu Stream, this gently sloping trail is a hidden gem for cooling off in the Zhuzihu area.
Pingding Ancient Irrigation Channel Trail
Additionally, in Shilin District, the “Pingding Ancient Irrigation Channel Trail” is a historic path with a simple, rustic charm. The entire trail is easy to walk and is accompanied by the Pingding Ancient Irrigation Channel, the Pingding New Irrigation Channel, and the Dengfeng Irrigation Channel. As you walk along, you’ll be embraced by shaded woods and the soothing sounds of flowing water, creating a refreshing and invigorating experience. It’s a top choice for hiking and staying cool during the hot summer months.
Dagouxi Riverside Trail
Aside from irrigation channel trails, another great way to beat the summer heat is to visit the “Yuanchue Temple Trail” and “Dagouxi Riverside Trail” in Neihu District. At the entrance to the Dagouxi Riverside Trail on Lane 243 of Dayu Shan Zhuang Street, you’ll be greeted by a stretch of green space against the blue sky. Take the opportunity to dip your feet into the cool stream water for a truly refreshing summer experience.
