“HowToTrip-Huashan District” is the third locally designed hotel in the “HowToTrip-Cultural Tourism” series by HowToTrip Hotels Group, following the ones in Chiayi and Taichung. Located next to Huashan 1914 Creative Park, its site was built in 1952 and originally belonged to a warehouse of First Bank. In line with the building’s era and history, it is named with “Machi” (district/neighborhood), reflecting its cultural roots.

The exterior of the hotel retains the original light brown color scheme of the building.
The hotel’s exterior maintains the original light brown color tone, while the interior preserves the American-style flat-slab structure. Due to load-bearing considerations, the columns feature “column caps.” During the renovation, the funnel-shaped pillars were preserved, making this a building full of historical imprints. Through historical and cultural research, the design integrates banking elements and a theme inspired by the culture of liquor-making.

The hotel has a total of three floors with 72 guest rooms and one British pub-style composite restaurant called “34 Machi.” With “Storing Huashan 1950” as the hotel’s development theme, the 1950s marked the golden age of the Taipei Distillery. “Storing” symbolizes the connection with the banking industry, while “hiding” represents Huashan’s role as a distillery during the Japanese colonial period, reflecting the meanings of brewing and storing liquor.
