There is a tropical depression with a pressure of 998 hPa, at 20°N, 111.5°E, in the waters off Guangdong, moving north-northeast at 10 km/h. Whether it will develop into a typhoon is worth monitoring.
Due to the northward movement of southern cloud systems, parts of southern Taiwan, the Hengchun Peninsula, and Penghu may experience localized brief showers or thunderstorms. Other areas will be mostly cloudy to sunny, with localized brief thunder showers in the afternoon. Affected by the outer circulation of the typhoons, most parts of Taiwan are likely to see scattered afternoon thunder showers on Sunday—those with travel plans should take note. On Saturday, the 11th, which is the annual spring tide, coastal low-lying areas in the southwest are advised to beware of tidal flooding.
