Crazy Tests – Go Big or Go Home
Upholding its "real-world crazy testing" culture, in April 2017, Columbia testers invited netizens across China to submit ideas for an outdoor "crazy waterproof test." Wearing Columbia’s lightweight, high-performance rain jackets, they put the gear through the most grueling tests in real outdoor conditions. Tens of thousands of outdoor enthusiasts voted on the location and test methods, and ultimately, the "Deep Creek Canyon Whitewater Battle" won the first week’s crazy test championship. The testers arrived on-site, donned their Columbia lightweight rain jackets, and paddled through rapids in kayaks, navigating thrilling currents and intense water fights. After the adrenaline-pumping ride and wild splashing, the testers were amazed to find their jackets remained completely dry inside.
Additionally, the "Crazy Test Series" will partner with the "Codoon" app to launch the "Run Wilder" event in May, taking place in six cities: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Wuhan. Participants will accumulate personal mileage through running, with miles earned qualifying them for event participation. Professional trail running coaches will also lead participants in real outdoor tests of Columbia’s Montrail trail running shoes.
