Breathtaking Coral Reef Coastal Walkway – Futoshan Fishery Conservation Area Becomes a Popular New Attraction

Here, you can not only admire the stunning seaside views but also step onto the “ocean walkway” to venture into the sea and explore the coral reef intertidal ecosystem, watching schools of fish swim gracefully in the clear waters.

The Futoshan Fishery Conservation Area has emerged as a popular tourist destination in recent years. However, in the past, it was a sea area rich in fishery resources. Overfishing later led to severe damage to the marine ecosystem, resulting in its designation as a no-fishing zone. After years of restoration efforts, the Futoshan Fishery Conservation Area is now not only a sought-after sightseeing spot but also witnessing the gradual revival of its marine ecosystem.

The northern part of the Futoshan Fishery Conservation Area is the main scenic zone, featuring a well-preserved coral reef intertidal zone and abundant marine life. Standing on the shore, you can see a vast expanse of coral rocks—an impressive and precious ecological spectacle.

To allow visitors to get up close and observe the richly diverse intertidal ecosystem, the Futoshan Fishery Conservation Area has constructed an ocean walkway using stones and fishing nets. Walking along the pathway, you can admire the spectacular coral reefs and intertidal zones. The water flow in this area is calm, the seawater is clear, and you can also see schools of fish swimming freely around you.

To maintain the environmental sustainability of the Futoshan Fishery Conservation Area, visitors are prohibited from taking away any stones or marine organisms from the sea area or feeding the fish. However, guided staff periodically feed the fish with “seaweed buns,” offering visitors a chance to enjoy a fish-feeding show.
