Taichung’s old city district gains new charm as lighting master Zhou Lian—who previously designed the illumination for the Statue of Liberty in New York—along with his collaborative team, embarks on a light environment revitalization project at the century-old Taichung Park. The project covers environments around Sun Moon Lake, Lake Heart Pavilion, fountains, Zhongzheng Bridge, and Zhongshan Bridge, installing a variety of colorful LED lights including underwater lights, linear lights, kickplate lights, and low column lights to create a romantic lakeside atmosphere. The lights will be switched on at 19:30 on August 17th, Qixi Festival evening, showcasing a dazzling display.

The Taichung Park light environment revitalization project features lighting installations across multiple zones. For instance, the Lake Heart Pavilion is enhanced with light that accentuates its structure, appearing from a distance at night like a splendid palace rising from the lake. Underwater lights have also been installed in Sun Moon Lake to create a sense of depth through the interplay of water and light. Lighting colors shift dynamically with the time of day and fountain movements, allowing the beauty of the fountain displays to be clearly admired even after dark.

In addition, the “Zhongshan Bridge” and “Zhongzheng Bridge” over Sun Moon Lake have received special lighting makeovers. Bronze-red and orange linear lights highlight the vibrant red hues of the Japanese-style wooden Zhongshan Bridge, making its elegant appearance even more striking. As for the Chinese-style brick-arched Zhongzheng Bridge, strategic lighting emphasizes the bridge's graceful contours and flowing lines.
