Leefan Soy Sauce Chicken Rice, which has earned Singapore’s Michelin one-star accolade for three consecutive years, opened its fifth branch in Taiwan on August 19 at the food court of Dajiang International Shopping Mall in Zhongli, Taoyuan. In addition to its signature soy sauce chicken, the outlet also offers equally enticing char siu, pork belly, and pork ribs, all of which can be enjoyed as part of combo meals. Before August 31, customers who purchase Combo A at the Taoyuan Dajiang branch of Leefan Soy Sauce Chicken Rice will also receive a limited-edition NT$100 voucher for a soy sauce chicken rice meal.

Leefan Soy Sauce Chicken Rice is the first street vendor in the Michelin Guide’s century-long history to receive a one-star rating. Its signature soy sauce chicken is made with locally sourced Taiwanese chicken, simmered for hours in an exclusive herbal marinade flown in from Singapore, allowing the meat to fully absorb the flavors. The skin turns into a glossy caramel color, while the meat remains tender, juicy, and succulent. The char siu is made from pork with clear distinctions between lean and fat, marinated in a secret sauce for a long time before being grilled at high heat until crispy. The result is thick, tender meat with a sweet and smoky flavor.

The “Signature Trio” brings together char siu, soy sauce chicken, and pork ribs.

The char siu retains its gelatin-rich skin and a touch of cartilage, marinated in a secret sauce and slow-roasted until golden and crispy—crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. The pork ribs are grilled whole, offering a mildly spicy and slightly charred aroma that is extremely appetizing.
