With the Lunar New Year approaching, cities and counties across Taiwan are hosting lantern festivals to attract visitors, and Pingtung County has kicked things off early with the "Pingtung Lantern Festival," setting the stage for the main event and presenting 50 sets of light displays featuring water themes, music, and interactive technology that illuminate Pingtung.

The 2019 Pingtung Lantern Festival is located around WanNian Park and is themed “Rainbow,” with the light display areas divided into seven colors: passionate red, vibrant orange, sweet yellow, majestic green, grand blue, mysterious indigo, and splendid purple.
This year’s light displays consist of 50 installations, including various forms such as water-themed, musical, and interactive technology displays that showcase the local characteristics of Pingtung.
