Buff │ Professional Quality Leading Fashion Trends
From January 16 to 19, the 15th Asia Outdoor Trade Show (ISPO) Beijing 2019 was held at the China International Exhibition Center. Over the past decade, ISPO has evolved into a premier B2B platform for sporting goods, extending its influence across the entire Asia-Pacific region. For outdoor enthusiasts and brands alike, this exhibition was undoubtedly a feast. Buff, an international brand specializing in seamless sports headwear and hats, participated in the event with over a thousand diverse products.

The Buff brand was founded in 1992 in Spain by Mr. Joan Rojas. A motorcyclist himself, Rojas came up with the idea of developing a seamless headwear during races. Together with machinery manufacturers, he co-developed a new knitting technology, giving birth to the world’s first seamless headwear. The hallmark of Buff products is their seamless design. While most headwear on the market today has adopted seamless designs inspired by Buff, the original concept undoubtedly originated with Buff.
Having lasted for 27 years, the Buff brand has evolved from initially offering only seamless headwear to now providing a wide range of products including professional running caps, trucker hats, and lifestyle fashion items. Buff has also launched new knitwear collections, including kids’ knit products, all as part of the 2019 lineup.

Buff stands out as a leader in the sports headwear accessory industry and is recognized by professionals in the field. The company boasts a strong design team that invests significant effort each year in style design and fabric selection. Designers continuously create new patterns that better match updated materials, aligning with Buff’s innovative philosophy of keeping product designs in sync with fabric technology advancements. With over a thousand headwear patterns—and more added each year—Buff offers exceptional diversity. Its products, while serving as sports accessories endorsed by professional athletes, have also gained widespread popularity and acclaim among the general public, as reflected in the brand’s continuously growing sales figures.

2019 marks a new starting point for Buff. Both the SS19 spring/summer and AW19 autumn/winter collections feature new products, especially the SS19 line which introduces the new coolnet UV|+ fabric. Compared to previous materials, this spring/summer fabric focuses more on enhancing product coolness by accelerating sweat evaporation from the skin’s surface, thus keeping the skin dry and reducing body temperature. This allows users to avoid the sticky, hot, and damp feeling caused by sweat in summer while staying fresh. Meanwhile, the new fabric is approximately 20% lighter than before.
For the AW19 collection, Buff has introduced the new DRYFLX+ fabric. Previously, Buff offered DRYFLX fabric, but DRYFLX+ is even warmer while being lighter and thinner than fleece or knit fabrics. Since athletes often seek lightweight options, this material is especially practical for winter use, balancing both lightness and warmth. Additionally, designers have zoned the areas of the head that tend to sweat and release heat the most, ensuring optimal moisture wicking and insulation for each area. A reflective panel has been added to the forehead area to enhance safety during nighttime activities. For ear warmth, the DRYFLX+ beanie has also been improved with an arched edge that perfectly covers the ears, while its special knitting structure provides extra insulation, ensuring well-protected ears in cold weather.

Notably, Buff is a company deeply committed to sustainability, consistently using recyclable materials for its fabrics. The coolnet UV|+ fabric used in Buff’s spring/summer 2019 collection is made from 95% recycled plastic bottles, and the new PrimaLoft fabric is also composed of 85% recycled materials.

In November 2018, Buff opened its first directly operated store in Beijing’s Wangfujing APM. This marked a strategic shift from previously focusing on developing a dealer network to placing greater emphasis on retail. In May 2019, Buff will open its second directly operated store in Fangzhuang. Alongside continuing to grow its dealer channels in 2019, Buff plans to establish more direct retail experience stores to offer customers a more tangible shopping experience.
Buff is a highly recommendable brand. Currently, it enjoys high recognition within professional circles. Buff offers unparalleled sun protection, a feature that proves extremely practical in daily life—an aspect Buff hopes to highlight to attract a broader consumer base. Beyond its functionality, Buff is also a fashionable brand. Its styles, colors, and patterns are favored by style-conscious individuals, especially women.
In addition to international events, in 2019 Buff will actively sponsor events that align with its brand identity, participate in more marathons, and promote its brand and product excellence through participation in high-quality exhibitions. Buff also plans to engage KOLs through reviews or soft advertisements in 2019 to strengthen brand visibility.
In 2019, Buff remains committed to crafting professional products using the latest materials and technologies while keeping up with fashion trends.Delivering a refined sports lifestyle to users.
