One of the menu items from the popular Korean variety show “Yi Restaurant 2,” the “Korean pancake,” always leaves everyone who tries it raving and craving just by looking at it. The Korean pancake is one of the must-try traditional snacks when traveling in Korea, but now you don’t need to fly to Korea—you can enjoy it in Taiwan too.

Recently, while walking through Shida Night Market, you might notice an indie-style Korean shop with retro Korean signs and a large colorful neon light on the exterior wall—the unique storefront always stops people in their tracks. This “Three-Flavor Korean Pancake” shop brings Korea’s recently viral street snack, the Korean pancake, to Taiwan, allowing Taiwanese fans of Korean food to enjoy delicious Korean pancakes without leaving the country.

The Korean pancake is made by mixing black sugar, a bit of cinnamon powder, and various nuts, which are then combined into dough, shaped into balls, and pressed into flat rounds before being pan-fried. With its crispy exterior and sweet, rich filling, the taste is astonishingly delightful and gets more addictive with every bite.

In Korea, Korean pancakes are usually served in small paper cups for easy handheld snacking, but at Three-Flavor Korean Pancake, they come in regular paper bags like those used by Taiwanese street vendors—giving off a blend of Korean and Taiwanese vibes.

Besides the handheld Korean pancakes, the shop’s featured dish, the “Ice Cream Korean Pancake,” is just like the one in the show “Yi Restaurant.” The golden-brown Korean pancake is topped with a scoop of ice cream. The contrasting textures of hot and cold create an addictive flavor combination.

Besides Korean pancakes, there are also options like tteokbokki, shaved ice, coffee, milkshakes, and sparkling drinks (Photo / Three-Flavor Korean Pancake)
