Located at the Sumida Aquarium in Tokyo Solamachi, visitors can not only get up close to penguins but also be amazed by the goldfish area themed in "Japanese style." The aquarium also holds special goldfish exhibitions every year, and this year the "Tokyo Goldfish Wonderland 2018" event runs from June 30 to September 30.

The "Tokyo Goldfish Wonderland 2018" is mainly set up in the "Edo Zone" on the fifth floor, featuring around 1,000 goldfish of over 20 varieties. The 100-meter-long exhibition space is decorated with Edo-style goldfish lanterns, with 100 exquisitely handcrafted goldfish lanterns floating above, creating a dreamy experience like walking through a goldfish tunnel.

Additionally, in the special exhibition area on the sixth floor, visitors can see many unique goldfish varieties, including colors beyond the usual orange-red—such as yellow, brown, and blue—that are very rare. There are also displays of goldfish species from other countries, along with the sale of local beers from the goldfish's countries of origin.
Many uniquely colored and shaped goldfish are also on display.

Limited-edition food and drinks are also available, such as refreshing sweet beverages made with fresh fruit and cocktails, served in tiny goldfish bowls that are super cute and make great souvenirs. There’s also a goldfish raspberry sorbet that contrasts with the red color of the fish—a cool, sweet-and-sour treat that’s very comforting.
