Summer racing to capture the ice cream market, FamilyMart has launched its new “Unshiu Orange Soft Serve,” made with the specialty citrus fruit “Unshiu oranges” from Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan, and featuring the mascot KUMAMON from Kyushu, Japan. Available now at all Taiwan branches, customers who purchase will receive a limited-edition Kumamon co-branded cup and a Kumamon folder, each set priced at NT$35.

FamilyMart’s newly launched “Unshiu Orange Soft Serve” is a special collaboration with Kumamoto Prefecture in Kyushu, Japan, using the local specialty fruit “Unshiu oranges” as the key ingredient. Known for their thick peel and juicy, tender flesh, Unshiu oranges strike a perfect balance between sour and sweet, but are produced in limited quantities.
In developing the product, a refreshing sorbet base was chosen to fully highlight the fruity taste that’s sweet with a tangy twist, without being overly rich. After a year of research and development, the final product offers a sorbet-textured, refreshing and tangy fruit soft serve.
