Stand atop the ridgelines to take in the beauty of the capital and capture dreamlike views of Taipei.

The North-South Long-Distance Hiking Route spans approximately 92 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1,120 meters, taking about seven days to complete. It is estimated to burn around 38,000 calories. The route is divided by the Keelung River into the North Area Ridge Long-Distance Hike, characterized by peaks and ridgelines, and the South Area Tea-Scented Long-Distance Hike, known for its tea culture and local industry. Along the way, there are not only dedicated logos and directional facilities, but also restrooms, water refill stations, and AEDs. Just follow the signs and you’ll be on your way to a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

The North Area Ridge Long-Distance Hike covers about 69 km. Starting from the Guandu Station of the Beitou MRT Line, it passes through the Danfeng Bailu Trail, Guizikeng Trail, Qingtian Temple, Datun Mountain, Xiaoyoukeng Recreation Area, Qixing Mountain, Qingtiangang Recreation Area, Shitiling Ancient Trail, Fengguizui, Meihua Mountain, Baishihu, the northern trail of Dashan, Yuangjue Waterfall, Dagouxi Riverside Trail, and then continues to MRT Dahu Park Station where you can take bus 620 to the hiking entrance at China University of Technology to proceed on the main route. Alternatively, you can take a side route back to Bishan Rock, then head toward Zhongyong Mountain, Jiannan Mountain, and Jiantan Mountain, ending at MRT Jiantan Station.
