Chibi Maruko grew up in Shimizu District, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. "Chibi Maruko-chan" is a series of works inspired by the author’s own upbringing. The planning of Chibi Maruko-chan Park incorporates details from the life depicted in the manga, and is divided into free and paid areas, allowing fans to freely choose what to explore.
The free area features a Chibi Maruko merchandise specialty shop, a shrine, signs of Chibi Maruko and her friends, as well as the most iconic grocery store from the cartoon’s opening sequence. Visitors can also draw fortunes at the shrine, making a total of 7 attractions to explore.
