The “2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition” will open on November 3, featuring six months of activities across three major zones — Houli, Fengyuan, and Waipu. With just over a month to go before the opening, some parts of the expo zones have already been unveiled ahead of time.

As surrounding attractions of the Taichung Flower Expo near completion, they offer the public more great leisure options for weekends. The Taichung City Government has planned the 1.2-kilometer-long “Houli Flower Horse Trail,” which is currently undergoing nighttime lighting tests. This trail connects Houli Station, the Forest Park Zone, and the Horse Ranch Zone, looking beautiful both day and night.

Meanwhile, the “Flora Expo Fengyuan Huludun Zone” also conducted a trial lighting of the artistic wall along the Soft Pi Zi Creek in May, with a trial operation expected in September. Admission will be free once the zone officially opens.

To allow both local residents and visitors to enjoy nearby attractions while visiting the flower expo, the “Top 10 Popular Nearby Attractions of the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition” was selected through an online vote. Ten recommended nearby spots are listed for public reference.

The online vote for the “Top 10 Popular Nearby Attractions of the 2018 Taichung World Flora Exposition” included 25 nearby attractions such as Wangyou Valley and Dongfeng Green Corridor in Waipu, as well as Lihpao Land, expected to drive tourism around the expo zones.
