With the opening of the Hong Kong section of the high-speed rail, transportation links between Hong Kong and nine nearby cities in Guangdong Province have been significantly strengthened, further boosting tourism development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
With the 26-kilometer Hong Kong section of the high-speed rail now operational, Hong Kong is connected to China’s extensive high-speed rail network for the first time. Travelers can take direct trains from Hong Kong to 44 cities across China without transfers, making Hong Kong an ideal departure point for multi-stop journeys.
High-speed rail services between Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou run frequently, with trips to Guangzhou South taking just about 48 minutes, making travel within the Greater Bay Area faster and more convenient than ever before.
