Due to the influence of Typhoon Trami’s outer circulation, next week will mostly see rainy weather. Rain will ease on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile, Typhoon Trami is expected to approach south of the Ryukyu Islands on Tuesday and Wednesday, making its path harder to predict and requiring reevaluation. It may shift northward or continue westward and make landfall in Taiwan. Notably, its continuous intensification means it could develop into a strong typhoon after Thursday. Whether or not it makes landfall, it will impact Taiwan.

With vigorous development of convective cloud systems, short-term heavy rainfall is likely starting Sunday. Sunday sees a chance of localized heavy rain in Keelung’s northern coast, Yilan area, and mountainous regions islandwide. Lightning strikes and strong gusts should also be watched for.
Except for Hsinchu City, Changhua County, Chiayi City, Lienchiang County, Kinmen County, and Penghu County, the Central Weather Bureau has issued heavy rain special alerts for 16 counties and cities islandwide. Moon viewing in northern and eastern Taiwan over the next two days is unlikely to go smoothly, while central and southern areas, being on the leeward side, will have mostly cloudy to clear weather, offering better chances for moon viewing.
