Due to the influence of Typhoon Trami, there is a probability of long-period swells occurring in northern Taiwan, eastern half of the island (including Green Island and Orchid Island), and Matsu on September 30. At noon, long-period swells with wave heights of around 2 to 4 meters were observed in New Taipei (Longdong), Yilan (Guishan Island), Hualien, Taitung, and Matsu. Avoid unnecessary seaside activities, and please stay safe.

On Monday and next Tuesday (October 1 and 2), the region will continue to be affected by dry northeasterly winds. Most areas will experience mostly cloudy to sunny weather with crisp autumn conditions. Only the northern and eastern parts of the island will see localized brief showers, while the mountainous areas in central and southern regions may also have localized short-term rain showers in the afternoon. This northeasterly wind system is also bringing in a cooler air mass, making it generally feel “cool” in the mornings and evenings across the island, especially noticeable in areas north of central Taiwan and northeastern Taiwan, where temperatures could dip to around 20°C. During the daytime, sunshine returns, leading to a significant rise in temperature, with highs reaching about 29 to 32°C, and possibly even higher in central and southern regions. As a result, there will be a relatively large day-night temperature difference, so pay attention to changes between daytime and nighttime temperatures.

From October 3 to 5, under the influence of the outer cloud bands of Typhoon Kong-rei, the northern and northeastern regions will experience showers, the eastern and southeastern regions will also see localized short-term showers, while the central and southern regions will be mostly cloudy to sunny with localized brief showers in the mountainous areas in the afternoon. On the 6th, the northern and eastern half of the island will have localized short-term showers, and the mountainous areas in central and southern regions will also experience localized short-term showers in the afternoon.
