To allow more people to enjoy high-quality Japanese-style service and a new type of consumer experience, the Mitsui Group continues to accelerate its expansion in Taiwan. It has announced that its third OUTLET PARK in Taiwan will be located in an important metropolitan center in the south—Tainan. It has also signed an agreement with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Railway Bureau to develop the site in the designated area around the high-speed rail Tainan Station.

The southern metropolitan area has a living sphere with nearly 6.4 million residents. Within a one-hour drive from the park, approximately 6 million people can be reached. In addition to the convenient transportation advantage of being adjacent to the high-speed rail “Tainan Station,” the park is also situated at the center of the “Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City” project area, which includes the Green Energy Technology Joint Research Center and a convention and exhibition center. As a smart city integrating “industry, government, and academia” resources, its development prospects are promising.

The park will be developed in two phases. Phase one is planned to include about 160 stores, with an expected opening in 2022; phase two is scheduled to open in 2025, reaching approximately 220 stores, making it the largest OUTLET PARK in the Tainan metropolitan area at that time.
