As autumn temperatures begin to drop, the evening temperature at Fushoushan is around 10–15°C. The purple-leaved maples at Yuanyang Lake are the first to change color, with those facing the wind already starting to transform.
Besides purple-leaved maples, the palmate-leaf maples at Fushoushan’s Songlu Cabin start changing color in mid-November, so you can plan your maple-viewing trip accordingly.
Autumn is also the blooming season for alpine silvergrass. The flowering period of alpine silvergrass is roughly from mid-October to early November. Key viewing spots include Tianchi (Heavenly Lake), the campsite, Jingguan Pavilion, and the open areas along the roadside, as well as the stretch from Kunyang to Xiaofengkou.
The beautiful sea of silvergrass blossoms paired with the autumn sunset makes for a particularly recommended stunning view for visitors to enjoy.
