Many people rely heavily on their phones or other mobile devices when traveling abroad, whether for taking photos, checking in, or searching for information. Running out of battery can feel like the end of the world!To improve the quality of life for both travelers and residents, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has launched the “IT SEOUL” policy, one of whose convenient services is the free rental of power banks. This service is available at designated subway station offices, museums, community centers, or public offices within the area.

There are over 600 free power bank rental locations in Seoul, including popular tourist spots such as Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), Myeongdong Tourist Information Center, Namsan Park, and Yeouido Park. Both locals and foreign travelers can rent power banks for free, so visitors can explore Seoul without worrying about their mobile devices running out of power.

Please note that to manage the supply at each location, power banks can only be borrowed and returned on the same day at the same location. Also, depending on the closing hours of each rental site, the return deadlines may vary. In addition, rental policies differ by location—some sites may require a deposit and ID, while others may only need your name and contact number to use the service. Be sure to clarify all details when renting.
