American-style retailer Costco has confirmed that it will continue to hold the “Black Shopping Festival” this year from November 23rd to November 25th, a limited three-day event. High-priced 3C products and home appliances are expected to have surprise discounted prices. Costco stated that this year, as in the past, they will not announce discount items in advance, and consumers will need to visit the stores in person to hunt for bargains.

Due to the unexpectedly intense shopping craze last year, the store has made improvements based on member feedback from the previous year, and conditions are expected to be much better this year. This year’s “Black Shopping Festival” will be held at all 13 physical stores across Taiwan, and normal business hours will remain in place. Event items and discount prices will still not be announced in advance.
The bright and spacious store space is expected to be packed with crowds.
Based on the special offers launched last year, there weren’t as many promotional items as expected, with only some products receiving special discounts. The most notable deal was buying a 60-inch Sharp TV to get a 45-inch TV for free, priced at NT$38,499. Other items such as freezers, down comforters, DYSON hot and cool fans, power banks, air circulators, lamps, Electrolux semi-automatic Italian coffee machines, and Electrolux 2-in-1 vacuum cleaners had discounts of around NT$2,000 to NT$5,000.
Many of the products sold in the store are not available through regular retail channels.
“Black Friday” in the United States refers to the day after Thanksgiving and marks the official start of the Christmas shopping season. Most stores open early, offering significant discounts on goods to attract customers. Consumers view this day as a golden opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts or find great deals, making it an important annual shopping event.
