Covering an area of about 10 hectares, Dongshi Riverside Park features facilities such as a croquet court, softball field, basketball court, and outdoor fitness equipment. Originally lacking lighting and with aging, outdated amenities, the Construction Bureau launched a renovation project that included building a new approximately 1.4-kilometer loop of pedestrian walkways and cycling tracks around the park, along with lawn refurbishment, giving the park a completely renewed look.
Dongshi Riverside Park covers an area of about 10 hectares.
The park’s pathways and basketball courts are the most frequently used areas, so foundational lighting improvements were made there, also giving the riverside park a unique nighttime ambiance.
Along the riverside path, there are signs modeled after Dongshi fruits, such as pears and persimmons.
The basketball court is equipped with two high-beam projectors that brighten the surrounding area, and 23 landscape spotlights have been installed along the loop pathway to reduce dark spots. Warm-toned lighting has been selected to enhance the park’s nighttime atmosphere.
