The hidden gem of "Shuanglong Waterfall" in Xinyi Township, Nantou, is located in the Shuanglong Tribe of Shuanglong Village. Emerging from the steep cliffs at an altitude of 800 meters in the northeast, it splits into an upper and lower cascade as it plunges from the mountaintop, resembling two dragons soaring through the sky, which inspired its name. The waterfall stands about a hundred meters tall, with thunderous cascades and misty spray.

Originally, Shuanglong Waterfall could only be viewed from afar. Later, the Yixian'an Tian Shi Zhan Tao Trail was constructed, named after the old name of the Shuanglong Tribe—"Yixian'an," meaning a quiet or rocky place. This trail connects the waterfall, the boardwalk, and the indigenous tribal attractions, integrating the tribal culture of the Shuanglong community. The trail stretches 947 meters and features 3,300 steps.

The "Shuiyuan Suspension Bridge" beside Shuanglong Waterfall is touted as the longest suspension bridge in Taiwan, spanning 342 meters. It hangs alone in the rugged canyon and is designated for transporting drinking water through its dedicated pipeline—only maintenance personnel are allowed to access it, keeping it out of reach for most people. Many choose to stand at the bridgehead to capture the spectacular view.

It takes about 60 minutes to walk from the Catholic church in the tribe to Shuanglong Waterfall. The forest path along the way is lined with mountain cherry and plum trees, filling the air with a faint floral fragrance during blooming season. Along the route, you’ll pass the "Shuiyuan Suspension Bridge" and a rushing irrigation channel—though narrow, its flow is strong, supplying water for the village’s farmlands.
