Tickets for the additional Tze-Chiang Limited Express trains on the Eastern Line will go on sale for online and phone bookings starting at midnight on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Those planning to return home to vote or to travel are advised to plan ahead and book early to avoid disruptions.
Additionally, following the Puyuma train accident on October 21, Taiwan Railways appointed a new director-general, Chang Cheng-yuan (formerly Deputy Minister of Transportation), on November 9. Director-General Chang has a long history of service with Taiwan Railways, having joined the organization in 1980 and accumulated 15 years of experience. In the wake of the Puyuma incident, Taiwan Railways’ official homepage has been switched to black-and-white as a mark of mourning.
