Taiwan’s high-speed rail, commonly used by travelers, has undergone its first ticket redesign. The new magnetic tickets feature enlarged fonts for key travel information, adjusted field layouts, and a color change from orange to white for the ticket background, making it not only easier for passengers to read but also allowing travel-related details to be more immediately clear.

The new magnetic tickets have been available at vending machines across all high-speed rail stations since November 22. In the past, some comments noted that high-speed rail ticket information was not very clear at a glance. With this redesign, passengers can experience a more convenient travel experience as soon as they receive their tickets.

Since the old orange magnetic tickets are still in stock, ticket windows at high-speed rail stations will continue to sell tickets with the new font information paired with the old orange magnetic tickets until the orange ones run out. Travelers who wish to collect the old version of the tickets should pay extra attention.

Since its launch in 2007, Taiwan High-Speed Rail has carried over 500 million passengers. The company continues to observe passenger needs and improve service quality, and has decided to significantly redesign the color, font, and layout of the magnetic tickets. This not only makes the ticket information clearer but also presents an overall design that reflects the corporate identity colors of the high-speed rail in a minimalist way.

The new magnetic tickets primarily display travel information in the upper section, with the train number font enlarged and the departure and arrival times placed immediately after the departure/arrival stations, better aligning with passengers’ habits for reading travel details. Additionally, the middle section of the ticket prominently displays seat information, including car number, class (business/standard), and seat number, helping passengers quickly find their seats upon boarding. The bottom of the ticket still retains purchase information for easy verification, and the layout adjustments make the details even more straightforward.

The design of the new magnetic tickets combines aesthetics and practicality, using flowing orange and gray lines to symbolize the continuous movement of the high-speed rail. Through the line design, the ticket information is layered, and with the use of re-layout and enlarged fonts, the aim is to help passengers quickly identify key travel details while delivering a refreshing new feel.
