Typhoon No. 28 Wan-ya intensified into a moderate typhoon at 8 p.m. on the 22nd, located 740 kilometers west of Guam, moving northwestward at a speed of 26 kilometers per hour.

 

The tropical depression originally located over the Spratly Islands sea area developed into a mild tropical storm Usagi (international name: USAKI) at 8 p.m. on the 22nd. Affected by the northeast monsoon, there is a probability of localized heavy rainfall in Keelung’s northern coast and the greater Taipei mountainous areas on the 23rd. Please stay alert.

On the 24th, the weather stabilizes and warms up. Except for Keelung and the northeast coast where rain is expected, the rest of Taiwan will have mostly cloudy to sunny weather, with temperatures between 20–22 degrees Celsius. In the Taoyuan-Zhubei-Miaoli area, lows could reach 17 degrees, while highs may hit 25 degrees. Central and southern Taiwan as well as the eastern half will see temperatures between 19–26 degrees. Temperature variations are significant, so please be especially cautious. Sunday’s weather looks good, but Monday’s weather will change again.
