The 1988 Soulful Pan-Fried Dumplings originated from a small stall on Zhonghua Road in Beitou, Changhua, established in 1988. What began as an unremarkable street vendor has now become one of the must-try local delicacies for visitors from out of town.

In addition to offering pan-fried dumplings and steamed dumplings, they also serve noodle dishes highly praised by netizens, along with a variety of side dishes and soups. Each dish name is quite playful, attracting many food enthusiasts.

Located in Taichung, 1988 Soulful Pan-Fried Dumplings stands out from other dumpling shops with its rugged, cement industrial-style interior. The owners specially invited the local design team observation design to collaborate in creating this brand-new dining concept.

Breaking away from the stereotypical image of a dumpling shop, it not only uses bold colors and tones but also incorporates a large amount of metalwork paired with recycled old wood to create a mosaic-style wall.

While exuding a strong retro vibe, it also softens the coldness brought by the cement walls and dark metal elements, reinterpreting traditional cuisine with modern architectural aesthetics and showcasing a dynamic, modern, and youthful energy.
