Following the unveiling of its new cabin crew uniforms at the end of August this year, EVA Air brings passengers an all-new flying experience once again. The third in-flight safety demonstration video since the airline’s founding was specially created in collaboration with Golden Horse-winning director Li Yunchan and internationally renowned choreographer Bulareyaung Pagarlava. It combines modern dance, 3D projection, and real-life scenes to deliver a new aesthetic of safety, allowing passengers to empathize as if they were truly part of the scenario and to easily understand in-flight safety instructions through the expressiveness of modern dance.

For this campaign, EVA Air invited Golden Horse director Li Yunchan to direct personally, employing a one-shot filming technique. Using technologies such as 3D projection, VR, Optical Flow, human motion detection, and real-time interaction, the team broke through the constraints of time and space to present realistic boarding scenarios. The interplay between dancers and animated projections also extends visual boundaries. For instance, non-visible phenomena such as mobile phone signal interference and smoke disturbance are visualized through tangible particle mediums that interact with dancers in real time via airflow fluctuations, providing passengers with a unique sensory experience while learning about flight safety.

In the promotional video, Paiwan choreographer Bulareyaung blends modern dance with both the technological and artistic aspects of new media. The production team underwent three months of planning and rehearsals to ensure that technical elements complemented the dance performance. Not only does the video clearly convey in-flight safety information, but it also presents a novel, elegant, and visually delightful artistic performance. This allows passengers to understand rigid safety guidelines in a fun and relaxed manner, enjoying a refreshing audiovisual experience.
